crossings, vaults, and other straight or irregular surfaces. It
is easy to apply, requires no special equipment, is compatible with
other coatings, and requires only minimal surface preparation. Non-toxic
and non-carcinogenic, #2 Wax-Tape is composed of inert, non-biodegradable
materials, so it is essentially unaffected by the elements.
#2A Wax-Tape completely conforms to irregular surfaces, and is unaffected by
the elements.
#2A Wax-Tape provides long-lasting protection of bridge spans from UV, weathering
and road salt runoff.
Wax-Tapes are applied
with minimal surface preparation on wet, sweating pipe that may
be found in vaults or meter stations.
- Description: #2 Wax-Tape is a plastic-fiber felt, saturated with a blend of
high melt microcrystalline wax, solvents, and corrosion inhibitors,
forming a tape wrapper that firms up and is then suitable for
painting.

TRENTON WAX TAPE
PRIMER (Brown)
|

|
Trenton Wax-Tape Primer is a blend of microcrystalline waxes, plasticizers, and corrosion inhibitors (no clay fillers). It has a paste-like consistency and is designed to displace moisture and wet the surface, ensuring adhesion of the tape. It is
easily applied by hand.
As a surface conditioner for underground
metal surfaces prior to application of #1 Wax-Tape, and #2 brown Wax-Tape.
Wire brush and scrape the surface clean.
Apply Wax-Tape primer by hand (glove). A thin film of primer
will be sufficient. On wet, cold or rusty surfaces, rub and
press WaxTape Primer firmly onto these areas, displacing moisture
and ensuring adhesion to the surface. After application of
the primer, #1 Wax-Tape, and #2 brown Wax-Tape may be applied immediately.
One-gallon cans, four per carton. 32lb/carton.

TRENTON Poly-Ply
|
|
 |
Poly-Ply plastic wrapper consists of three 50 gauge, clear, polyvinylidene chloride plastic, high cling membranes, wound together as a single sheet. It provides a mechanical and electrical barrier over graycoat while remaining flexible enough to conform to irregular shaped surfaces. It is inert and will not deteriorate, and is resistant to chemicals and bacteria commonly found in soil.
As a wrap over cold-applied Graycoat or Temcoat coating on straight pipe and irregular metal surfaces such as T's and Couplings.
- Pre-apply Graycoat or Temcoat coating and form Poly-Ply wrapper over the coated surface. An additional second coating of Graycoat or Temcoat can then be applied over the Poly-Ply for greater protection.
- Coreless rolls in cartons containing 50 sq. yds.
- 4" x 50' rolls (27 rolls/carton)
- 6" x 50' rolls (18 rolls/carton)
- 9" x 50' rolls (12 rolls/carton)
- 12" x 50' rolls ( 9 rolls/carton)
- 18" and 36" widths available by special order.
- Color: Clear
- Thickness: 1.5 mils
- Dielectric strength: 2000 volts/mil
- Water absorption: negligible
- 3-Ply composition for extra mechanical strength
- High Dielectric strength
- Conforms to irregular shapes

TRENTON TEMCOAT PRIMER
|
|
Temcoat
is an anti-corrosive compound for use in high ambient temperatures.
It is over-wrapped with Trenton Poly-Ply.
- Description: TEMCOAT
is a high temperature petrolatum wax coating compound that will
not melt and can be applied at ambient temperatures up to 200° F. It does not require a primer or curing time and is easily hand
applied.
- End Use: TEMCOAT is used as an anti-corrosion compound for underground
and under water metal surfaces. It is used as a mastic in cold-applied
wax systems or as priming paste with wax tape systems. Because
of its paste consistency over a wide temperature range, it is
an excellent mastic for filling voids in both systems. It can
be used for straight pipe, irregular fittings, and flat surfaces.
- Packaging: 3
gallon pails (approx. 24 pounds/pail)
-
Supports cathodic protection

Trenton Keyhole Patch Pad and Tools |
|
Description:
The Trenton Keyhole Patch Pad and Tools
enable utilities to apply a coating to a pipe surface through
a small-diameter hole or keyhole. The components include two
tools (attached to extendable poles) and a patch pad with
pre-applied coating.
End Use:
The system is an excellent solution for
applying a coating within a small-diameter hole over cadwelds
or coating holidays.
Advantages:
- Coating is pre-applied or hand-applied
to pads
- Non-hazardous, no VOCs
- No waiting for drying or curing
- Immediate backfill
- Minimal surface preparation
Operating Procedures:
- Wire brush and clean the surface
of any loose coating, rust, scale and foreign matter.
- Secure the extension handles (supplied
by Trenton or by the utility) to the patch pad applicator
and the finishing tool.
- Attach a pre-coated patch pad
to the applicator tool. (Or anticorrosion compound can be
applied by hand directly to the bottom of a dry pad.)
- The applicator tool, with the
coated patch pad attached, is then lowered into the keyhole
and onto the pipe surface to be protected.
- Use the finishing tool to hold
the patch pad to the pipe while lifting off the applicator
tool and leaving the patch pad on the pipe.
- Use the finishing tool to press
the pad firmly to the pipe, making sure that coating compound
is squeezed out on all edges and ensuring that the pad is
firmly adhered.
- The patch pad (with coating) now
protects the pipe, and backfill can begin immediately.
Packaging:
- Patch Pad: 4”, 6" or 5"×8"
pad
- Tools: Patch pad applicator and a finishing
tool
